Routine maintenance of office chair plastic bases should focus on regular dusting, gentle cleaning, moisture and sun protection, and structural inspection. Avoid using strong corrosive solvents to ensure long-term stable use.
1. Routine Dust Removal: Reduce the Impact of Static Electricity Adsorption. Plastic materials easily attract dust and fine particles due to static electricity. It is recommended to wipe the surface weekly with a slightly damp soft cloth or anti-static cloth, paying special attention to cleaning the five-star base, connecting plate, and reinforcing rib gaps.
A low-power vacuum cleaner can be used to assist in cleaning hard-to-reach areas, preventing dust accumulation and accelerated wear.
2.Cleaning Methods: Choose a suitable cleaning agent. For ordinary stains, use a neutral detergent (such as dish soap) diluted with water (1:10), wring out the excess water, and gently wipe, avoiding liquid penetration into the structure.
For stubborn stains, mix edible baking soda with dish soap, apply the mixture, let it sit for 2 minutes, and then wipe clean. This method is safe, effective, and will not damage the plastic surface.
3. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme environments. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause plastic to age, become brittle, and fade. Avoid placing the chair near windows or in direct sunlight.
It is recommended to maintain the ambient temperature between 5℃ and 35℃ to prevent low-temperature brittleness or high-temperature deformation, thus extending the material's lifespan.
4.Structural Inspection and Tightening
Monthly check for loose screws, especially at the connection between the chassis and the gas spring. Use a hex wrench to tighten them appropriately to prevent structural fatigue due to wobbling.
Inspect metal inserts for signs of rust. If necessary, apply a small amount of WD-40 or similar rust inhibitor and lubricant to maintain reliable connections.
5. Caster and Shock Absorber Maintenance
Regularly clean hair and lint from the casters to ensure smooth movement and prevent uneven pressure that could cause the base to tilt or deform.
Replace TPE shock absorbers promptly if they show significant wear or hardening to maintain shock absorption and quiet operation.
